Kansas City International Airport
Kansas City International Airport was built by the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and opened in 1972. Its lack of congestion, easy terminal access, low number of flight delays, and low air fares have long established it as one of the most convenient commercial airports in the world. With the airport's innovative features and design integrity, it remains a state-of-the-art facility, especially for passengers. Instead of endless concourses separating ground transportation from flights, KCI's three terminals were the first designed under the "drive-to-your-gate" concept to minimize the distance from curb to aircraft. Many of the passenger ticket counters and gates for each carrier are side by side for efficient passenger boarding.
