Buenos Aries International Airport
The officially titled Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza is typically referred to as the Ezeiza International Airport or simply Ezeiza, for the town in which it's located. Situated 35 kilometers (22 miles) southwest of downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ezeiza International Airport serves the city and surrounding communities with international and national flights.
Ezeiza International Airport is served by upwards of 50 national and international airlines. Given the size of Argentina, air travel is the best way to traverse large distances quickly between not only international destinations, but also between Argentina's key cities and regions. Be aware that a departure tax applies to international passengers leaving from Ezeiza Airport, and is currently at a rate of approximately $22 USD; the domestic departure tax is approximately $6 USD. In addition to service from Ezeiza, domestic travel and flights to Uruguay operate out of the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery which is to the north of Buenos Aires, near the Río de la Plata.
